THIS WINTER WHY DON'T YOU...?

..... feel the cold air on your cheeks. Wrap up, borrow a dog (if you haven't got one) and take an afternoon walk with a friend on Hampstead Heath on a crisp, sunny winter's day. Be calmed by the peacefulness of the ponds as the city spreads out before you in all of it's frost-sprinkled finery.

... see the Big Apple at it's most beautiful. Take a trip to NY to do your Christmas shopping. The decorations are stylish, and the department stores such as Henri Bendel and Bloomingdale's do chic gift wrapping for friends and family back home.

... curl up by a log fire with a good book in cashmere socks.

... sing merrily on high. Go with friends and family to a Christmas carol concert in a major cathedral or church. Such places are twice as magical around this time of year.

.... spirit away on a whim. Jump on the Eurostar for a day trip or weekend to Paris. As you speed towards it, take a bottle of champagne and a couple of glasses, and drink to one of the world's most romantic cities. Once there, be sure to wander down the wistful Avenue Montigne.

*** Thank you Kate Winslet and Harper's Bazaar, I am now feeling so festive and inspired for this winter season.
X.
